Card Counting Strategies

Hi-Lo:
True count: divide “running count” value by # of decks
Running count: from 2 to 6 = add +1; 7,8,9 will give 0;
cards from 10 to King subtract -1

K-O Strategy:
From 2 to 7 = add +1; 7,8,9 will give 0; cards from 10 to Ace subtract -1

Hi-Opt 1 strategy:
From 3 to 6 = add +1; 2,7,8,9 and Ace will give 0; cards from 10 to King subtract -1

Hi-Opt 2 strategy:
2,3,6,7 will give +1; 4 and 5 add +2; 8 and 9 give nothing; from 10 to King subtract -2
Aces are counting separately, not depending on main count.

Strategy Advice

Player should “Stand” if they got 17 or more
Player should stand on “soft” 19-20
Player should hit if the dealer got 7 or more
Player should hit if they got 8 or less
If the dealer got 4,5 or 6 – player should double on their “soft” 13-18
If the dealer didn’t get an Ace - player should double when they got 11
If the dealer got 9 or below – player should double on their 10
If the dealer got 6 or below – player should on their 9
If the dealer got 6 or below - player should split their 2’s and 3’s
Player should split if they got Aces or 8’s
Player should never split their 10’s and 5’s
Player should never take insurance

Card Values

The values of cards:

From 2 to 9 – the original value

From 10 to King – the value of “10”

Ace – could be 1 or 11
