Online baccarat valuing handsPlaying online Baccarat plays with both the players hand and the bankers hand but plays a little differently than at a land based casino. Playing online Baccarat is being played by the software therefore the wagerer does not know how the hand values are valued and under what circumstances additional cards can be drawn. However with land based casinos while playing Baccarat the wagerers have to take turns at playing the players hand and in some of different types of baccarat they may need to play the bankers hand. The hand values are based on the card values. The cards that range from 2's to 9's have the same value as their face value. Aces have a 1 point value and 10's, Jack's, Queen's and King's have a value of zero. To get the hand value, all of the cards are added up together, so now the tens digit is dropped. Therefore all of the hand values range only from 0 to 9. For an example, a hand that has an 8 and a 9 totals 17 and after you drop the tens digit the hand becomes a 7. Now if the hand consists of a King and a 3 the hand value becomes 3 as the King's value is zero. First off the player is dealt two cards. The rules that are the determining factor whether or not they will draw a third card are pretty simple. If the player's hand value from the two cards that were previously dealt is from 0 to 5 then the player would draw a third card, except when the Banker has a hand value of 8 or 9. For some of the circumstances that the player would not have to draw a third card is when their hand value is computed on the basis of all three cards. Alternatively their hand value is based on the two cards dealt stands. The Banker is also dealt two cards at the start of the game. The rules for the banker drawing the third card are a little complicated. The players hand value has an affect on whether or not the banker needs to draw a third card, the bankers hand value and the value of the third card drawn by the player. If the players hand value is either an 8 or 9, then the banker cannot draw a third card. But if the players hand value is either a 6 or 7, then the banker would draw a third card only if their existing hand value is 0 to 5. If the players hand value ranges from 0 to 5 then there is a more complex set of rules for the banker to follow. These rules are dependent upon the bankers existing hand value and the players third card value. The rules are as follows: If the bankers hand value is 0 to 2, then the banker will always draw a third card. If the bankers hand value is 3, then the banker will draw a third card, except when the players third card value is an 8. If the bankers hand value is 4, then the banker will draw a third card when the player’s third card has a value from 2 to 7. If the bankers hand value is 5, then the banker draws a third card when the players third card has a value of 4 to 7. If the bankers hand value is 6, then the banker will draw a third card when the player’s third card has a value of 6 to 7. Last but not least, if the bankers hand value is 7 to 9, then the banker never draws a third card. There is a "caller" who informs for the third card to be dealt according to the above rules, but it is advisable for the player to know the rules as well.
